Watch out for helicopters when checking your mail

It always amazes me when I see people walking down the side of the street wearing headphones. You honestly never know what could be coming at you. That being said it might just be a better idea if you didn't wear headphones while walking at all, at least thats what the family and friends of a 23 year old Canadian college student think. You see Isaiah Otieno was walking to his mailbox checking his mail when he was struck and killed by a helicopter. The problem is you don't have to actually be listening to anything through your headphones for most of the surrounding sound to be blocked or dampened to an indecipherable level, especially when you wear earbud style headphones. Just having them in/on or listening to music at low levels could have caused the sound of a crashing helicopter (whatever that may be) to sound like a passing car or a loud truck.
