Resurgent motherboard maker abit has announced what should be a great addition to its AMD platform lineup - the Micro-ATX, 780a based A-S78H. This little powerhouse sports a DirectX 10 capable ATI Radeon HD3200 integrated display adapter, and supports Hybrid CrossfireX with the addition of a discreet video card. Sticking with the display capability theme, the A-S78H takes advantage of ATI's Unified Video Decoder, which uses the integrated GPU to decode H.264, VC-1, and MPEG-2 signals - thus reducing strain on the computer's processor and lowering overall power consumption. Plus, the A-S78H features HDMI and DVI ports for easy connection to HD ready displays, and a PCI-E 2.0 slot to take advantage of the newest generation of video cards. Supporting all AM2 and AM2+ CPU's, up to 8GB of dual-channel DDR2 RAM, and six internal SATA II ports, abit's A-S78H motherboard should satisfy the needs of even the most discerning LAN party gamers, HTPC builders, and PC DIY-ers.
