The MPAA is either trying so hard, or they are willing to go to any length to catch copyright infringers, that they themselves have violated some GPL copyrights. In case you did not know, the MPAA have been installing "University Toolkits" to catch copyright infringers at various universities around the United States. A developer for the Ubuntu distro, Matthew Garrett, caught the MPAA and reported it, however he was largely ignored. He contacted the ISP hosting the content, and they concurred with the violations and removed the software. The MPAA has not yet responded on why they felt justified in violating copyrights, when they themselves are trying to end just such practices.
