Yet Another Facebook Problem
Facebook has been under fire recently after the launch of new tracking software early last month. The software seemed innocent enough aside from the fact that it installed adware called Beacon. The program tracks customer purchases outside of the site on participating online retail sites even when the user was logged off of their Facebook account. The software was intended to direct ads to the user based on the purchases when they were logged onto Facebook, but of course something had to have gone wrong for me to post this. The Beacon software went a little AWOL and started posting stories about these purchases in the users news feeds. Facing fire from its customers over exposing their private life, Facebook opted to make you have to click an "OK" button before the purchases would be posted in the public feeds. Lets hope all that porn you purchased won't show up!
