Daily Tech - Ridata announced today it's release of a new 32GB 2.5" SATA SSD, with a MTBF of four million hours. With this 2.5" format, it seems to be aimed at the mobile sector. The drive has a slower read/write speed of 60MB/sec and 48MB/sec compared to Samsung's mainstream 64GB SSD which offers read/write speeds of 65MB/sec and 45MB/sec. Mtron on the other hand, put both to shame with read speeds of 120MB/sec and write speeds of 90MB/sec. Some other advantages over traditional HDD are it's ultra lightweight, uses half as much power, it's smaller, and operates at a lower temperature, has no mechanically moving parts, and offers incredibly fast boot and access times. The 32GB drive will be available in the coming weeks, while a 64GB drive will come to the table in late November. Pricing has not been announced for either drive.
