OCC News: PowerColor Donates Sales Proceeds to Fight Cancer
When it comes to diseases like cancer and such, many of us don't think much about it until a loved one or ourselves are diagnosed. Many people try to help out by donating to different charities and foundations in the time of need, and it just seems we can never do enough. Some of us help out with distributed computing programs such as Folding @ Home by donating our PCs spare CPU cycles. Cancer affects all of us regardless of age, gender or social status. Thanks to PowerColor, we now have another way to help out with this deadly disease. PowerColor, the leading brand of graphics cards worldwide, today announced that it will donate a portion of all sales proceeds from North America throughout the month of October to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Additionally, as part of this month's effort to support the foundation, PowerColor will be including LIVESTRONG Wristbands with select products for a limited time at participating online retailers. "Founded in 1997, The Lance Armstrong Foundation was formed by professional cyclist Lance Armstrong soon after his successful personal bout with testicular cancer. The foundation has been successful in raising cancer awareness as well as money towards cancer research and care".
