DailyTech - Recalls on Sony batteries have been going on for a while now, but with no news on the story recently. Until now that is, as Toshiba has issued a recall of batteries in laptops using Sony made cells. Satellite A100, Satellite A105 and Tecra A7 models built between January and April of 2006 are potentially affected. So if you think you may have one of the potentially faulty batteries in your Toshiba, check it out and get in touch with them if you do. - jammin *News Editor*

"The lithium-ion batteries can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Toshiba has received three reports outside of the United States of notebook batteries overheating, but no injuries have been reported. The CPSC suggests that consumers should stop using the recalled batteries and contact Toshiba to receive a free replacement battery. Consumers can continue to use the notebook computers safely, by turning the system off, removing the battery, and using the AC adapter and power cord to power the system until the replacement battery is received. Consumers should use only batteries obtained from Toshiba or from an authorized Toshiba reseller."
