My buddy and I won an AMD XP 2200+ processor at an AMD reality tour here is Chicago. So we both decided to build a new computer around the processor. I decided that since my computer was down in the basement where it’s dark mostly, I would like to lighten up the place a bit So I bought an all acrylic case with several UV reactive fans, blue, red, and green. Then I decided to cover all the wiring coming off the power supply with UV reactive wiring sleeves. I chose two colors, yellow and red (which is actually orange looking). I then added two black light tubes one of which was made for a computer and the other I purchased at Wal-Mart on clearance that was design for automobile use. I just stripped the ends and connected molex connectors on the ends and plugged it into an available powered molex connector. I now had UV light, which looked real sweet, but now I need something brighter. I looked and looked and found nothing I liked. Finally, I was shopping Wal-Mart, again, and in the clearance section, and found many of the neon rings designed for subwoofers. I bought several packages, took them home, cut off the ends and plugged the ends into a molex connector and it worked. What’s even better is that the neon rings are sound activated, and can be turned on and off from a switch that is pulling power from the computer. Lastly, I added the glow wire in the bays where further hard drives would go.
